DevOps at Outbrain

Abstract:

Outbrain provides content recommendations, giving each user the best content to read on the web. Selecting the best content while going over large scale data contains huge scalability and operational challenges. In this session Itai will provide a sneak peek at the values, culture and steps that Outbrain has taken to handle these challenges in a collaborative way. Expect many buzzwords to be discussed: Empowerment, Accountability, take-ins, continuous delivery, MTTR, Quality time, Ops on shift and Engineer on call, Alerts types.

Itai Hochman, Outbrain

Itai Hochman is the VP of engineering at Outbrain since Feb 2008. Prior to Joining Outbrain, Itai was Director of R&D at Schema Ltd, a leading provider of multi-vendor RAN optimization & analysis solutions, and premium services for wireless operators. Prior to joining Schema in 2003, Itai held various management roles at Bandwiz and VSoft. Itai holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA degree, both from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. He resides in Israel with his wife Ruthi and their four kids.
